The Municipal Enterprise of Tourism Naoussa (MET) and with discreet title HOTEL "VERMION" was founded in 1985 and its constitution was published in the OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC (FEK) No. 242 on 2 May 1985. The duration of this enterprise was decided on 100 years since the publication of the FEK. Municipality of Naoussa is the seat of the MET. According to the statute the enterprise aims at:
1. The equipment and the exploitation of the hotel unit, restaurant- cafeteria in the region of Agios Nikolaos.
2. The tourist exploitation, development and utilization of the wider region.
ACTIVITIES OF ENTERPRISE
The Met of Naoussa is the bigger enterprise of this type in the Prefecture Imathia and first in the services supply. The "Vermion" hotel that belongs to MET is founded in the region of Agios Nikolaos, functions all over the year and is characterized as B' category. It allocates 70 rooms, 150 beds. It also exploits a restaurant of 200 seats capacity and a cafeteria - bar of 100 seats along with a lounge of multiple uses. During summertime the open-air restaurant allocates 400 seats and the cafeteria 200 seats. The building "KIOSKI" which is exploited by MET and operates as a restaurant-cafeteria is founded in the Municipal Park of Naoussa in the centre of the city. The enterprise also exploits the mountainous camping "GRAMMENI" during the bimester July-August.
ADMINISTRATION - MANAGEMENT
The Board of Directors is the supreme membership of this Public Entity which mainly modulates the strategy and development policy and supervises and inspects the finance management. It generally wields on the objective of its aims with the exception of the issues that come under the Municipal Council's appositeness according to the Municipal Code. According to the Municipal Code, the Administrative Council is constituted by 11 members who are appointed by the Municipal Council every two years. The Mayor Mr Anastasios Karabatzos is defined as the Chairman during the biennium 2009-2010.
Today the enterprise occupies 49 people as permanent personnel and 10 people as seasonal personnel (Summertime, Christmas). Its personnel are very experienced and specialized (5 to 20 years) and have a higher degree since all of them have graduated from Universities and Technological Institutions or have refreshed their training in the Faculty of Tourist Professions and therefore constitute the most important part of the enterprise.
The installations of the enterprise, "VERMION" along with "KIOSKI", are found in the most advantageous localities of Naoussa and wider region and offer qualitatively upgraded services. All these years the enterprise is constantly directed to the continuous qualitative rise of the services' supply aiming not only at its development and competitiveness, but also at its operation as a pilot unit for the tourist growth of the region. This can be proved by the continuous development and improvement of its installations, its finances outcomes and the constant increase of the overnight stays at the hotel along with the fact that it has been certified by the system of quality ELOT EN 9001/2000 and HACCP.
